This year's theme, Building Successful Communities, highlights the vital role that collaboration, support, and empowerment play in creating communities where women thrive. Get ready to be inspired by stories of resilience, determination, and achievement as we come together to uplift and empower women to reach new heights. Together, we'll explore how each one of us contributes to the fabric of our communities and how, by lifting each other up, we can create a brighter, more prosperous future for all. Since 2012, Dress for Success Central Virginia has provided over 3,000 women with comprehensive job-readiness and educational programs to support them through every stage of their employment journey, starting with the job search and leading to sustained employment, empowered entrepreneurship, and self-sufficiency. Many of the women referred to Dress for Success Central Virginia have endured circumstances beyond our understanding including homelessness, domestic violence and poverty. Annually, Success and the City provides an opportunity for us to continue celebrating these womens successes and transforming their lives.

Our panelists bring unique experience and perspective to the Success and the City stage.
Vincent Ellis White | Community Leader, Human Service Professional, Advocate
Trusted voice, fatherhood champion, long-standing community leader, former human services worker, and child welfare/foster care advocate, Vincent Ellis White, has cemented his footprints in the Richmond area for a long time now.
He's currently known as the curator and moderator of the panel-styled event series entitled Difficult Conversations/Stronger Communities, which openly and candidly discusses current topics that are considered "difficult" yet essential to our community and culture; however, the illustrious Vincent was highly recognized in his community long before. He authored the best-selling memoir “Finding Chris, My Father”, helped create a traveling stage play to follow, has been listed as one of Richmond Virginia’s Style-Weekly Top 40 under 40 recipients, listed as Richmond’s “Hometown Hero” by the prestigious law firm Allen, Allen, and Allen, featured on CBS 6, listed in the Richmond Times Dispatch in 2015 and 2022 for his life story and impactful work in foster care, listed as one of the Chesterfield Education Foundation and Chesterfield County Public School’s BRAVO award recipients, a recipient of the Virginia Favorite Father’s award given by the Virginia Family & Fatherhood Initiative, and has curated and facilitated numerous transformational events around the city. Vincent’s heartfelt life story and journey has been featured on ABC in New York, CBS, NBC, and lectured upon at various universities across the United States.
He currently sits on the board of the nonprofit, Work of Art RVA, is a celebrated fatherhood advocate, has raised his one and only son Jordan Ellis White into early adulthood, works professionally as a contract specialist for the federal government with the CDC; as well as works part-time as a mentor and in-home counselor with Community-Based services at St. Joseph’s Villa.
NaQuetta N. Mitchell | Founder & Executive Director, Women of Endurance
Naquetta is a solution based thinker that has served the tri-cities (Hopewell, Petersburg, and Prince George) 20+ years. She prides herself on being “A Woman Who Cares Enough, To Do More Than Enough”. Naquetta’s love for volunteerism started when she was a student at Carter G. Woodson Middle school as she was afforded the opportunity to participate in the medical explorers program, that program was hosted by John Randolph Medical Center. She was 14 at that time and since then she has been making it her business to serve the most vulnerable humans on earth... Children and Women.
Naquetta, after many years of working and volunteering in the human services field, spent time as a social worker for the department of social services. NaQuetta continues to find opportunities to empower and equip the citizens through assisting faith based institutions, community leaders, and community members with strategies, plans, and advice. NaQuetta truly believes that there’s enough opportunity and resources for anyone to thrive and seeks out occasions to fulfill these assignments by God in addition to being the founder of her nonprofit organization Women Of Endurance.
NaQuetta is a Game Changer in the Tri-Cities and will continue to create programs and collaborate with other like minded organizations and individuals while being the best mom she can be to her amazing daughters Amina & Arianna.
Monica Scott | Capital One Sr. Manager-Market Community Engage Lead
In her role as a Sr. Manager Market Community Engage Lead, Monica is responsible for managing
Capital One’s community engagements and sponsorship strategy within the East Coast Café footprint.
This includes being a strong people leader, advocate and consultant for the local communities within the
Northeast Region.
Monica has a background in Business Relationship Management, Multi-Site Management and
Community Relationship Management which has led to success in working with local non profit
organizations within her region, sponsorships and executing high level events that drive brand awareness,
traffic and customer loyalty. With 17 + years of Retail Banking Experience Monica has a wealth of
knowledge in business development, risk assessments, DIB management, people leadership and
community engagements. Monica continues to lead with passion and uses her skills and advocacy to
inspire, influence, and motivate her peers and organizations that she works with.
Monica actively serves on the Dress For Success Greater Philadelphia, Board of Directors.
